Plants add life, calmness, and connection. Our work is driven by an innate love of nature and guided by Biophilic Design. The Plant Parlour is at its core is about the people - building meaningful, long-term relationships with our clients, and their connection to the natural world.

About the founder
Emily created The Plant Parlour from a desire to bring more connection and calm into everyday spaces, through plants, nature, good design, and meaningful collaboration with clients and their people. Emily spent most of her time growing up outside playing in her Mother’s large exterior garden, in the Mountains or on The Great Walks of New Zealand. These experiences fuelled a passion for the beauty and complexity of nature.
With an extensive history in a previous career as a Clinical Social Worker, specialising in Mental Health and Addictions, Emily views plants and nature as an integral part of the environments we live, work and play in. Plants and nature increase positive mental health outcomes and the act of caring and being with plants in our environments can heal, support trauma recovery, inspire, improve focus, productivity and create positive staff, user and consumer experiences.
Emily approaches every project with warmth, thoughtfulness, joy, fun and attention to client relationships. Relationships are at the heart of everything at The Plant Parlour and good relationships are one of the most important values that guide the work of Emily and her team.
Emily is a Mother to two young girls, and when she isn’t busy with Mum life and running The Plant Parlour she’s likely climbing one of New Zealand’s beautiful mountains or on a bush walk somewhere. If not there you’ll find her head down in her Interior Design Studies, playing the Cello or finalising poetry for her new Poetry Book due for publication.
